About Myself

1. Let me introduce myself. My full name is Andrey Ivanovich Petrov. I was born on the 7th of May, 1990 in Saint Petersburg. My father is a manager. His favourite occupation is to watch sport programmes on TV. My mother is an economist. Her name is Anna. Her hobby is gardening. I am not the only child in the family. I have got a younger sister. Her name is Marina. She is 10. Marina goes to school.

2. Two years ago I finished school. I always did well at school and studied with great interest. I also took an active part in social life. I attended subject circles and a sports club. I like playing computer games very much. When I had some free time I met my friends or listened to music. My favourite subject at school was history.

3. I successfully passed entrance examinations. Now I am a student of the Nevsky Institute. In our institute you can study design, psychology and commerce. All the professions are very useful. Each profession requires well-educated people and qualified specialists. So in our institute there are special classrooms for drawing and painting, a library, rooms equipped with computers and for psychological relaxation.

4. After graduating from Commerce Faculty it is possible to find good jobs. Commerce students are better motivated to do their best because they have clearly set goals. Their competence and knowledge, required by the developing business economy, are well paid. To be a designer is attractive too. This profession can fit creative people who know how to make things around them look nice. I think that to be a sociologist or a psychologist is very interesting and useful too. Psychologists try to help people to cope with their spiritual problems.

My Day

1. I study at the institute so I am always very busy every day. My day begins at 8 o’clock when I get up. I wash my face and hands and clean my teeth. Then I comb my hair and get dressed. I have a cup of coffee and a sandwich for breakfast. Usually my classes start at 9.30 a.m. so I leave my house at 8.45. I usually travel to the Institute by underground. It takes me about 20 minutes.

2. We have four to eight lessons a day. Between lessons we have 15 minutes breaks. At the institute we have a cafeteria where we can have lunch or a cup of coffee. Sometimes we have lessons at computer classes. I like these lessons because we make projects, compositions and other interesting and useful things.

3. After classes I go to the library to prepare for the next day lessons. Sometimes I meet my friends and we go to the café or to the cinema. I like music very much so once a month I go the concert or to the opera house. When I studied at school I played volleyball in our school sport team. Now I play volleyball only during our PT lessons or in summer on the beach.

4. On Sundays I don’t get up early. I sleep until 10 or 11 o’clock. After breakfast I like to walk with my friends but mostly I have to prepare my hometask for the next week because I have a lot to do. I finish my work at night and after small supper I go to bed at about 12 o’clock.

5. When I have some free time I like reading books or listening to music. My favourite writer is Jack London and my favourite group is The Beetles. I can’t play any musical instruments but I’d love to. I also like playing computer games, especially in contact. Sometimes I go to a museum or an exhibition but not very often. In fine weather I like swimming and sunbathing at the seashore. I have a camera and take photos of interesting places and events. My dream is to travel around the world and see much abroad.
