Ex.8. JAnswer the questions.

1. What sort of music would you advise a boxer, a soccer, a gymnast and a fencer to listen to and why?

2. Do you think music can help people of other professions improve their achievements? Prove your point of view. Give examples if necessary.

Ex.9. J You are participating in a press-conference devoted to the presentation of the PSA. Each of you is going to receive a role. Your task is to organize the conference and to act according to your roles. While preparing for the role-play you may use the text from Ex.2. and expressions given above it.

Roles:

1. Dr Costas Karageoghis, a researcher at Brunel University in West London, a designer of the PSA. (Speak about your research)

2. A representative of Nike, a sportswear company. (Explain why you support the project)

4. The chairman of the conference. (Open the conference, introduce the guests, close the conference)

6. A skeptic (Doesn’t agree with Dr Costas Karageoghis’ concept)

Some useful expressions: to welcome the guests; Let me introduce…; honor guest; I’d like to give the floor to…; to call upon smb.; amazing as it may seem; I ask your attention; I argue this case; I dissent from the opinion; I believe that our contribution can be valuable.
