Ex.5. Translate the following text into English using your active vocabulary.

БЛЮЗ (англ. blues, сокр. від blue devils - меланхолія, смуток), сольно-пісенний жанр афро-амеріканського музичного фольклору і джазу. Склався на початку 20 століття. Блюзова традиція представлена практично у всіх основних джазових стилях. Блюз відображає глибоко особисті переживання, насичені (rich in) драматизмом і внутрішньою конфліктністю, містить також елементи гумору, іронії, соціальної сатири. Специфіка блюза виявляється, крім того, в особливій структурі поетичної строфи і своєрідності музичної форми, у застосуванні певної низки виразних засобів, в манері виконання. Для блюза характерні метафоричність образів, імпровізаційність музики і тексту, застосування поліритмії і синкопування, питання-у-відповідь, специфічне темброве забарвлення звучання голосу або інструменту.

Комерціалізація блюза почалася приблизно з 1930, хоча загальну популярність він одержав ще в 1914 завдяки популяризаторській і творчій діяльності У. До. Хенді, що прозве «батьком блюза».

Оркестровий блюз вперше був записаний на грамплатівку в 1921, кантри-блюз (сільський блюз) - в 1924-25, класичний - в 1920, сучасний - в 1933 (Біллі Холідей). Блюзові елементи є невід'ємними атрибутами багатьох стильових форм сучасної поп- і рок-музики.
