Re: Award of Unimotorcycle Drag Racing Records

Dear Dmetri Gor:

It is the official decision of the A.N.U.S. Board of Directors that the World Record in Unimotorcycle Drag Racing shall be Awarded to Roman Koltakov in recognition of his World Record run of 2.38 seconds in Togliatti, Russia on January 21, 2012.. It is herein noted that this time is 9/100ths below Alex Roth of Germany’s World Record of 2.47 seconds.

This shall also be considered the B Class Record in recognition that Roman Koltakov’s record was set on a 600 cc Yamaha four cylinder. This beats the previous B Class Record of held by no other than Co-Founder of A.N.U.S.( and also the 1st Unimotorcycle Drag Racing World Record Holder) Bob ‘Shit N’Get’ Scheskie at 2.45 seconds.

Bob “Shit N’ Get’ Scheskie died in 2009. He is sorely missed, but we are sure that he would be the first to raise his glass and salute Roman Koltakov for beating his record. The American National Unimotorcyclists Society congratulates Roman Koltakov on a truly beautiful run. Though the Beast bounced off the line, Roman kept the front end up high at full throttle. It was an impressive run.

Additionally, the A.N.U.S. Board of Directors herein Awards Evgeniy Smirnov with the D Class Record in recognition of his run at 3.62 seconds. This was a great run for the D Class which beast the previous Class Record at 3.97 seconds held by ‘Kato’ of A.N.U.S.

The A.N.U.S. Board of Directors would like to extend our encouragement to Alexander Dudarev as a great competitor in this motor sport. Our decision regarding the 2012 World Record was based on an obvious touch off the line during the attempted World Record run. It should be herein noted that Alex Roth of Germany continues to hold the A Class record at 2.48 seconds.

A.N.U.S. Certificates on these Records are being processed. Notification will be sent to the Guinness Book of World Records. Congratulations to all of Russia for great race!
