Processor kernel

The technical decision of processor kernel is determined by the followings parameters:

- Architectural - a set of registers, memory organization, operands addressing methods in memory, instructions set for processing of these data.

- Circuit engineering decisions - circuits of registers, ALU, bus control circuits and so on. Circuit engineering determines also the internal diagram of functioning - a sequence of data migration on buses between registers, memory, ALU.

- Technology of production - determines possible circuit complication, maximal frequency of switching, energy consumption.

In modern processors for the embedded systems will realize as СISС-architecture (Моtrо1а НС11, Intel МСS-51, АМD Аm186 etc.), and also RISС-architecture (MicrochipPIC, Аtmel АVR, Triscend Е7-АRМ).

The productivity of processor kernel is determined by the complex of factors:

- By frequency of clocking of intermodule buses of address and data Fbus. It is determined from frequency of synchronization generators Fxclk on correlation, individual for every processor kernel. For example, for МС351 - Fxclk/Fbus = 12 and at frequency of generator 12 Mhz kernel works on frequency 1 Mhz; for Аml86ЕS - Fxlk/Fbus = 1; for Motorola НС08 there is the mode of input frequency multiplication and Fxclk/Fbus < 1.

- By the amount of register-register sending for unit of time. For RISС- processors it is one sending for bus clock, for СISС - 1..3 sending (they are slower).

- By the productivity at most in-use operations implementation in the concrete algorithm of management.

- By call/return time of interrupt handling subprogram. This parameter is matters at functioning in the mode of the hard real time and determines maximal intensity of the processed events.
