1. Work in pairs. Read the quotations and tick the ones you agree with. Share your ideas with your partner. Be ready to report the results to the group using such phrases as: we agree with…, we can’t agree with… we think that…, my partner supposes that…, to tell the truth…, as far as I can judge…

Role-play “First-time programmers”.

Working in pairs (student A and student B) role-play the situation. Imagine yourselves to have just started working as programmers for a large company; your boss gives you a task to develop your first iOS app for iPad/iPhone/iPod touch together. To do the task you have to choose an appropriate programming language offering variants to your partner and giving pros and contras. Be ready to act your dialog out in front of the group. You are welcome to use such phrases as:

I offer to use …, because it has the following advantages: …

To my mind … / In my opinion … / I think that … this very language is (not) suitable / convenient / appropriate.

I’m afraid I can’t agree that … / I don’t think so.

I find … very difficult / easy / appropriate.
