President of XYZ Co. fired

Roger Fisher, president of XYZ Co. for the last 10 years, has been fired. The board of directors of XYZ met with him for seven hours yesterday before reaching their decision. They tried to overcome their differences, but they could not reach an agreement. Fisher said that they disagreed about strategy. “We were listening to each other, but we just didn’t agree,” he said. The board wants to take the company into new areas, such as financial services. Fisher wanted to stay with manufacturing side of the business. Fisher, who is married with three children, said he will spend more time on his family life now.
