Statue of Liberty

It has long been in the minds of all people, this unique building became a symbol of the United States. Statue of Liberty - a gift to the American people from the French government - was first opened for public visits in 1886. It was designed by French architect Frederic Batoldi (Frederick Batholdi). He does not have the original drawings after construction has finished its work in 1886 (do not know of any reasons). For this reason, the U.S. National Park Service (US National Park Service) took up the creation of a computer model of the monument in 2001. The interior of this 46 meter high statue consists of a 22-storey twisting staircase, ascending to the crown, which is decorated with the head of the statue. In the basement of the monument is a museum.

Skyscraper Empire State Building

Construction of the Empire State Building began in March 1930. This huge building was built fairly quickly: in just 14 months. Construction was engaged architectural firm Shreve, Lamb, & Harmon Associates. This building was the tallest in the world before the advent of the World Trade Center (World Trade Center) in 1972. The height of Empire State Building - 448 meters (with antenna), in a building 102 stories. Official opening of the Empire State Building was held on May 1, 1931: U.S. President Herbert Hoover lit the lights on the building. The exterior is faced with limestone and granite, trimmed with aluminum and chromium-nickel plates from the 6th floor to the top. Paul the ground floor is decorated with marble brought from Italy, France, Belgium and Germany.

Large companies are very fond of decorating the Empire State Building as an advertisement, or just on the occasion of a holiday. For example, in December 2004, visitors and New Yorkers can enjoy the view of Empire State Building, illuminated with red lights. Ferrari is a company celebrated its 50th anniversary in the U.S. market. A decade ago, Empire State Building shone purple in honor of the new candy-colored M & M's (then around the country held elections to a new color, and has won purple).   
