Concept description of the economy (industry and agriculture)
Modern Japan is the universally recognized leader of the world economy. Japan advances all countries in such important factors as GDP, technological level of production, labor production, gold and foreign currency reserves and etc. Rapid economic growth of Japan in the post-war period had been accompanied with its energy sectors development.
Japan takes the second place after the USA in production of 900 billion kilowatt-hours. But then, China has backed off Japan to the third place. Iron-and-steel industry is one of the oldest industries that nowadays are developing very slowly. Though, iron-and-steel industry remains one of the most important branches of international specialization for Japan.
Manufacturing is the heart of Japanese industry. The country takes the first place in the share of its export and is inferior to the USA in production value. There are such branches of international specialization of Japan as: shipbuilding, automobile production, machine-tool construction, robotics, various electronics.
Electronic industry is related to the newest sectors, Japan is inferior to the USA for scales, but it takes the first place in volume of exports.
Japan is the main fishing country. Really, for a long time Japan had been taking the first place in catch and seafood production.
