A DIFFERENT KIND OF EDUCATION

While most children attend a mainstream school, there is a tradition in many countries throughout the world of ‘alternative schools’. In these schools there tends to be more emphasis on (1) ………. In secondary schools in England, students have to (1) ………… 10 different subjects until they are 16, and these must include English and maths. After that they specialize, and from age 16 to 18 they usually (2) ………… a maximum of four or five subjects.
