The DAAD' s programmes number more than 100 and include short- term exchanges for the purpose of research or teaching as well as full doctorate scholarships for postgraduates from developing countries, plus information visits by delegations of foreign university vice-chancellors and long-term regional programmes conceived to establish efficient higher education systems in the developing world.
It becomes quite clear that the DAAD is a mighty and potent partner in questions of international university relations. Of special interest to students is the sophisticated grantscheme out of which I will only mention the possibility to study in Germany:
а) a grant for a full academic year;
b) a grant for a full semester;
c) a grant for short research trips;
d) grants for summercourses.
These programes are especially designed to strengthen the relations between German universities and researchers from abroad and to encourage foreign students to share theirs knowledge with their German partners. Since information about all these programs can be obtained in the newly opened German Centre at the technical University of Novosibirsk or at the news-stand in the language department I refrain from elaborating on them here. But students with questions concerning these matters are always welcomed at our office hours.
