My Native Place. A Small Town

My native town is situated in Bashkortostan. It is an hour ride from Ufa. Some people can’t imagine their lives without theatres, multi-storeyed buildings and broad avenues, all that is typical of big industrial cities. There are no theatres, multi-storeyed houses or broad avenues in my town, and still I like it because I was born here, my parents live here, and I’ve spent here almost all my life. One may think that life in a provincial town is dull. It’s true, but on the other hand it has a lot of advantages, and I’ll try to prove it. Every morning I get up and breathe in sweet fresh air which is different depending on a season: in summer it smells fresh grass and flowers, in winter it smells frost and snow. My native town becomes especially beautiful in late spring when there is a great many tulips in flower-beds and all the trees are in blossom. Those who want to have some entertainment can go the Recreation Park, which is famous for its attractions. Those who prefer dancing can go to discos, which are rather popular with young people, especially teen-agers. It’s a pity we have no concert halls or theatres, but you may go to the cinema or the club. We have a lot of opportunities to go in for sports because there are two big stadiums in the town. I quite forgot to tell you that there are many beautiful cafes in our town, you can drop in at any of them. I’m sure, you’ll like it there.

Well, of course I like my native town/ settlement very much and want it to be still more beautiful and clean and nice than now. And ... welcome to _______ so that you can see it with your own eyes. I’m sure you’ll love it there.
