The electrical system of an automobile is divided into two parts. The ignition system is one of those parts. It provides the spark that is used to ignite the mixture of air and gas. This spark is supplied by the spark plug.
After the gasoline and air mixed in the carburetor, the mixture moves into the engine. The spark that is used to ignite the gasoline and air mixture is provided by the space plug. The spark plug is part of the ignition system. The battery, the ignition switch, and the many wires are also part of this system.
