· the characteristic features of contemporary cities;
· the consequences of cities’ growth;
· the future of modern cities (cybernetic machines);
· the need for constant supply of energy, food and clean water;
· cities should take responsibilities for becoming more self-efficient;
· the essence of vertical farming;
· the importance for cities to become energy sufficient;
· the future is in our hands.
VI. Speaking:
A. In pairs, ask and answer the questions, then report your findings to the group:
1. Where do you live?
2. What do you like about the area where you live?
3. What don’t you like?
4. What do you like about your house / flat?
5. What would you change?
B. Think for a few minutes about what your dream house will be like and make notes. In groups, describe your houses. Whose do you like best?
Use different modal verbs and the following notes to help you: Where will your house be? What kind of house or flat will it be? What special features will it have?
VII. Writing: Write in 90-100 words the description of your imaginary house / flat. Make use of helpful words and phrases:
