In progressively urban settings we experience overcrowding, noise, pollution, conflict, stress -- facets that strongly affect the emotions, nervous systems, and general sense of well-being. Meanwhile, a geographical disposition restores us to connection, appreciation and social integration. Geography matters: today more than ever.

ü How does the information changed recently?

ü How does the life of a person changed due to technology?

ü There is a mismatch between hyper modern world and people. Why?

ü Evolution does not prepare us to ignore the impact of technology. In what sense?

ü A geographical disposition restores us to connection, appreciation and social integration. Explain.

B. What role does the Internet play in your life? (studies? communication?)

How can we explore the physical world through the digital medium? Give you own examples.

VI. Speaking

A. In pairs discuss the following and report your findings to the group:

1. Do you prefer to learn about the news from TV, radio or newspapers? Why?

2. Which of these forms of media do you think has the greatest influence on us?

3. Which perspectives do each of them have in your opinion?

4. How can conventional mass media compete with the Internet?

5. What sources of raising money can they get besides advertising and subscription?

6. Can social activity be considered a sign of mass media success/failure? Why?
