Thank you for your kind invitation to participate in the exhibition of medical equipment and speak at the seminar on 10 November. I am afraid I shall be very busy in the first half of November as I am inspecting the tests of our equipment at the works in Brighton.

Seminar on 10 November. At the same time I am interested in your new models as well as equipment of some German and Japanese firms which are taking part in the exhibition. So I will try to be in London on 15 November.
2. Therefore I shall not be able to take part in the Seminar on 10 November. However I am sending you my report and recommendations. I hope these materials will be helpful.

Letter 1
Dear Sirs
We have received your letter of 11 December requesting us to pack Items 137 and 141 in plastic containers instead of cartons.
Steps:
- say that unfortunately you cannot meet your customer's request for new packing;
- you wish to use your new improved packing material and are enclosing a sample of it;
- you ask your customer to inform you if they approve of your packing.
Letter 2
Dear Mr S. Sorensen
We acknowledge with thanks the receipt of your letter of 12 January requesting us to send our samples.
Steps:
- say that you are very sorry to be unable to send samples to your partner;
- however advise your partner - if he wishes to obtain a general view of your production programme, quality and packing - to contact Mr Jeremy Morgan at OPI Suppliers in Birmingham who carries a complete line of your samples;
- say that you are expecting your customer's early reply.
