Customs Officer: Will you, please, show me your exit visa?

Passenger: Just a moment! Here it is.

C.O.: Have you filled in your declaration form?

P.: Yes, of course. Here it is.

C.O.: Well. Dashes are not allowed, sir. You'd better write everything in words once again.

P.: All right ...

CO.: Do you have any expensive gold items?

P.: Yes. This ring and a lighter.

C.O.: You'd better write them down here. Could you open this travelling bag?

P.: Oh, yes.

C.O.: What's in this small plastic box?

P.: You mean this one?

C.O.: Yes.

P.: There is some jewellery in it.

C.O.: Jewellery?

P.: Yes, an amber broche, and also an amber necklace. Amber is very popular nowadays. There is also a set of enamel.

C.O.: Where did you buy it?

P.: In a small souvenir shop. Here are the receipts.

C.O.: Very nice. Now will you please put your baggage on the belt? Mind you don't drop your case. Please, keep off the belt. Well, well ... Are you sure you've declared everything?

P.: Yes, absolutely.

C.O.: I'm afraid what you are saying is not true. I'm asking you again: Have you got any items in this suitcase that you are prohibited from taking out of the country?

C.O.: Do you have special permission for taking out this icon?

P.: No, I don't. If I knew the customs regulations I would have thought about getting special performance, but ...

C.O.: You can't do anything about that now. You'll have to leave the icon at the customs office. I'm sorry.
